Glückel von Hameln,
18th-Century Feminist Journal (1646 – 1724)

Written between 1700 and 1724, this journal by a mother of twelve children has become the prototype of a feminist diary. Strong-willed, intellectually and culturally vibrant, Glückl von Hameln became known throughout Europe for her literary skills as well as her business acumen after the death of her husband.
