Leo Baeck Institute for the study of the History and Culture of German-Speaking Jewry

The Leo Baeck Institute New York is a center for research, exhibitions, and events.

 Its library and archives offer the most comprehensive documentation for the study of German Jewish history.

The LBI is located at the Center for Jewish History at 15 West 16th Street in New York.

The reading room is open Mondays - Thursdays from 9:30am - 4:30pm. We are closed on national and Jewish holidays. Please make an appointment in advance when visiting the institute.

The catalogs of the holdings for the LBI archives and library are available online.

 

Several fellowships are offered to researcher in the field of German-Jewish Studies.
