Biographical/Historical Information

Felix Nussbaum was a surrealist painter, born in Osnabrück, Germany and educated as an artist in Berlin and in Hamburg. Living in Brussels after 1933, he was interred in the Saint-Cyprien camp in France and eventually sent to Auschwitz, where he was killed at age 39.
