Agata Sobczak (she/her), is a Research & Archival Assistant at the Leo Baeck Institute, NY. She is a graduate of Fordham University’s master’s program in history under the mentorship of Professor Magda Teter. Agata’s research focuses on Polish-Jewish-German relations in interwar Upper Silesia. In her thesis titled “Manufacturing Polish Identity: Antisemitism in Upper Silesian Polish Press in the Lead Up to the 1921 Plebiscite,” she explores how antisemitism was used by Polish nationalists to manufacture national identity in the nationally ambiguous Polish-German borderland. She is currently pursuing a Master of Library Science degree at Queens College.
