Biographical/Historical Information
The Austrian architect Wilhelm Stiassny was born in Pressburg (Bratislava, Slovakia) in 1842. He oversaw the construction of palaces, schools, residences, factories, hospitals, and synagogues in Vienna, and he was highly active in affairs of its Jewish community. Wilhelm Stiassny died in Bad Ischl, Austria in 1910.
