April 3, 1915
Early – it was a wonderful morning – the commando takes itself to the day position on 454 from where we have a magnificent view to the battlefield. The battle was in full swing, the Germans had advanced strongly – also our position did not stay clear of Russian artillery shells and shrapnels so that we had to change position a couple of times. Around 4 p.m. our troops received the order to entrench themselves in the surrounding stables and the corps returned to the quartering at 6 pm.

April 4, 1915
The battle for Jawirska and Kobila is being continued today, too. A German division intervenes in the combat. We are cooperating with them – it just progresses slowly.(..) During the day the prince Windischgraetz is visiting us.

April 5, 1915
Early, at 7 a.m. we are again riding to our position and this day will be a day of first class victory. Very early in the morning our artillery started firing with all calibers with powerful preparation and lasted until 4 p.m. whereon our infantry attacked and shortly after that Jawirska and Kobila were in our hands. (…) Our joyful mood was incredible – triumphant we returned at 6 p.m. to our quartering.
