Editora Leo Jeronimo Schidrowitz

Leo Schidrowitz founded the Editora Leo Jeronimo Schidrowitz in Porto Alegre after 1938, when he escaped from Austria after the Anschluss.

He had worked in the publishing business since the end of the first World War. In 1919, he became manager of the Frisch & Co. Verlag. He founded a number of publishing houses, e.g. the Gloriette-Verlag (1920-1924), especially in order to publish his own books. In 1924 he had established the Leo Schidrowitz Verlag for the same purpose.
