Interscience Publishers Inc.

In 1940, Eric Proskauer founded the Interscience Publishers Inc. along with Maurits Dekker, another European émigré. After the Second World War, Interscience took over the distribution of Elsevier titles in the USA.

In 1946 Interscience opened a branch in London to distribute their works in Europe. Finally, in 1961, the company was acquired by Wiley.
