Biographical/Historical Information

The Memmingen Synagogue was built between 1908 and 1909 and designed by architect Max Seckbach. The synagogue was one of many destroyed in November 1938 during Kristallnacht.

The Bimah, also called the Almemor, is a raised platform in Jewish synagogues from which the Torah and Haftarah are read, according to Ashkenazi (German) ritual.
