Biographical/Historical Information

Ignaz Kuranda (1812-84) was a Prague born, German-Jewish writer and liberal politician in the Austrian parliament. He was devoted to Jewish causes, serving as president of the Jewish community of Vienna and vice-president of the Israelitische Allianz zu Wien. His son Camillo (1851-1919) was a civil servant and specialist in classical Roman law.
