Biographical/Historical Information

The Juedische Gemeinde zu Berlin (or Jewish community of Berlin) was founded in 1671. The Juedische Gemeindehaus (or Jewish community center) on Fasanenstrasse was inaugurated in 1912 and destroyed during Kristallnacht on November 9, 1938. The building was reconstructed in 1959.
