Biographical/Historical Information

The composer and music teacher Bernhard Sekles (Seckeles) was born in Frankfurt/M. in 1872. He composed ballets and operas, working with stage-orchestras. As a teacher at the Hoch'sche Konservatorium in Frankfurt, he started an acclaimed jazz class in 1928. Bernhard Sekles died in Frankfurt in 1934.
