Biographical/Historical Information
Rabbi Rudolf Plaut was born in 1843 in Mackenzell, Hesse. After serving as rabbi in Posnan and in Karlsbad, Bohemia, he became the second liberal rabbi at the congregation in Frankfurt/M. to assist Nehemias Brüll in 1883. Rabbi Rudolf Plaut went blind in 1903; he died in Frankfurt in 1914.
