Biographical/Historical Information

Philosopher, poet, satirist and author Salomo Friedlaender was born in Gollantsch, Prussia (Gołańcz, Poland) in 1871. In 1906, Friedlaender moved to Berlin to embark on his career of expressionist, grotesque, and fantastic literature under the pseudonym Mynona (“Anonym” spelled backward). His novels, poems and other writings were mainly published in expressionist periodicals of his time. He escaped Nazi-Germany in 1933; Salomo Friedlaender died in Paris in 1946.
