Biographical/Historical Information
The drama critic, theater manager, and stage director Otto Brahm was born in Hamburg in 1856. His main accomplishments were the founding of the Berlin theater organization “Die Freie Bühne” [The free stage]; his management of Berlin’s leading theater “Deutsches Theater”; and his contributions to the literary magazine “Die neue Rundschau”. Otto Brahm died in Berlin in 1912.
