Biographical/Historical Information

Max Brod was born 1884 in Prague. He studied law at the Charles University of Prague and graduated in 1907 to work in the civil service. From 1924, he worked as a critic for the Prager Tagblatt. In 1939, he emigrated with his wife Elsa Taussig to Palestine, where he lived until his death in 1968. Max Brod became best known for his disclosure of the literary estate of his friend, Franz Kafka.
