Biographical/Historical Information
Born in Giessen in 1861, Henriette Fürth (née Katzenstein), was an author, social worker, politician, and feminist with a lifelong involvement in social projects and women's rights. At the age of 19 she married the merchant Wilhelm Fürth. The couple moved to Frankfurt in 1885. They had 8 children. Henriette Fürth published more than 200 articles and more than 30 books about social topics. Between 1919 and 1925 she was a deputy for the city council of Frankfurt. Henriette Fürth died in Bad Ems in 1938.
