Biographical/Historical Information

The neurologist Ludwig Edinger was born in Worms in 1855. He was one of the founders of modern neuroanatomy and a professor of neurology at Frankfurt University. Ludwig Edinger died in Frankfurt am Main in 1918.

The artist Lovis Corinth was born in Tapiau, Prussia (Gvardeysk, Russia) in 1858. He succeeded in his work to combine impressionist and expressionist elements of styles. Corinth joined the Berlin Secession group and became the group’s president, following Max Liebermann. Lovis Corinth died in Zandvoort, Netherlands in 1925.
