Biographical/Historical Information

Born in Mannheim in 1889, Billigheimer studied in Heidelberg and received his doctorate in 1911. He was imprisoned in Dachau after Kristallnacht, but emigrated with his family to Melbourne in 1939, where he taught German, Latin, and French. Billigheimer wrote extensively on German-Jewish philosophy and religion.
