Biographical Information

The comic strip artist and painter Lyonel Feininger was born in New York in 1871. He was in his time a leading expressionist artist. Feininger studied in Germany and worked in Berlin, associating with the “Berliner Sezession”; “Die Brücke”; “ Blaue Reiter” and other groups. Lyonel Feininger died in New York in 1956.
