Biographical/Historical Information

The much-acclaimed pianist Leopold Godowsky was born in Vilna in 1870. His career brought him to Berlin and Vienna, and to several venues in the United States, where he emigrated in 1914. He also was revered as a composer. Leopold Godowsky died in New York in 1938.
