Biographical/Historical Information
The composer Carl (Karoly) Goldmark was born in Keszthely/Hungary in 1830. His most famous opera was “Die Königin von Saba”, which was first performed in Vienna in 1875 and remained in the repertory of the Vienna Staatsoper continuously until 1938. Carl Goldmark died in Vienna in 1915.
