Biographical/Historical Information

Moritz Goldstein was born in Berlin in 1880. After editing the "Goldene-Klassiker-Bibliothek" he became an editor of the Vossische Zeitung in Berlin. His article "Deutsch-juedischer Parnass" in the literary journal 'Der Kunstwart' in 1912 caused a heated discussion on the question whether German Jews should contribute to German culture. Goldstein emigrated to Italy in 1933 and to the USA in 1947. He was the author of several plays and poems.
