Biographical/Historical Information
Rabbi Yechezkel (Ezekiel) Landau was born in Opatów, Poland in 1713, and he became known as an authority in Jewish law (Halakha). He was called to Prague to become the Jewish community’s rabbi in 1755. Rabbi Ezekiel Landau died in Prague in 1793.
Rabbi Yechezkel (Ezekiel) Landau (1713-1793) was the father of Samuel Landau (Shemuʼel Landa, [1752?]-1834), an equaly influential authority in Jewish law in Prague.
