Biographical/Historical Information
Rabbi Max Grunwald was born in Hindenburg, Silesia (Zabrze, Poland) in 1871. He served as rabbi for congregations in Hamburg and in Vienna, and he was an erudite scholar with a preference for Jewish folklore. In 1938, Rabbi Max Grunwald emigrated to Jerusalem, where he died in 1953.
