Biographical/Historical Information
Rabbi Nathan Marcus Adler was born in Hannover in 1803, son of Hannover’s Chief-Rabbi, Marcus Baer Adler. After serving as rabbi in Würzburg and in Hannover, Nathan Marcus Adler became the Orthodox Chief Rabbi of the British Empire in 1845. Rabbi Nathan Marcus Adler died in Brighton, England in 1890.
