Dr. Joseph Norden was born in Hamburg on June 17, 1870. After graduating from the University of Halle and studies at the rabbinical seminary in Berlin, he served as rabbi for the Jewish communities in Elberfeld and then in Hamburg. He was deported to Theresienstadt in July 1942; Joseph Norden died on February 7, 1943.
