Biographical/Historical Information

The physicist Isidor Isaac Rabi was born in Austrian Galicia in 1898, but he grew up in New York City, embarking on a career in nuclear physics. During World War II he participated in the Manhattan Project and other endeavors. He won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1944. Isidor Isaac Rabi died in New York in 1988.
