Biographical/Historical Information
The biochemist Fritz Albert Lipmann was born in Königsberg, Prussia (Kaliningrad, Russia) in 1899. He worked as a scientist in Berlin until 1939, and then at universities in New York and Massachusetts. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1953. Fritz Albert Lipmann died in Poughkeepsie, NY in 1986.
