Biographical/Historical Information

The author Paul Lindau was born in Magdeburg in 1839 into an originally Jewish family that converted to Protestantism. Lindau was best known for his theater plays, and he also was an intendant and manager at some major German theaters. Paul Lindau was the brother of the author and diplomat Rudolf Lindau (1829-1910). Paul Lindau died in Berlin in 1919.
