Biographical/Historical Information
The pianist Artur Schnabel was born in Kunzendorf (Lipnik, Poland) in 1882. He performed mainly in Berlin with important orchestras, often under famous conductors. He escaped the Nazi regime and emigrated to the U.S., where he became a naturalized citizen. Artur Schnabel died in Switzerland in 1951.
