Biographical/Historical Information
Leonie Nelly Sachs was born in Berlin on December 10, 1891. She arrived in Sweden as a refugee with her mother on May 16, 1940. She remained in Sweden as a writer and traslator, receiving the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1966. Nelly Sachs died in Stockholm on May 12, 1970.
