Biographical/Historical Information
Bad Königswart (Lázně Kynžvart) in Bohemia, next to Marienbad was a spa town with a Jewish synagogue that was built in the 17th century, brandishing an elaborate baroque Bimah and Tora shrine. In the early 19th century the Jewish community was under the protection of Prince Metternich.
