Biographical/Historical Information
The pedagogue and author Theodor Rothschild was born in Buttenhausen in 1876. From 1901 to 1939, he was the director of “Israelitisches Waisenhaus Wilhelmspflege” in Esslingen am Neckar. Theodor Rothschild was the father-in-law of Rabbi Emil Schorsch; he died in the concentration camp Theresienstadt in 1944.
