Biographical/Historical Information
Mileva Marić-Einstein was born in Serbia in 1896. She met her future husband Albert Einstein at the Zürich Polytechnic college, where she was the only woman among their fellow students. They married in 1903 but separated in 1914. She lived with their two sons, Hans Albert and Eduard in Zurich, while Albert was in Berlin; they divorced in 1919. Mileva Marić died in Zurich in 1948.
