Biographical/Historical Information

The Jewish community in Karlsruhe, Baden had a representative synagogue in a unique “Egyptian revival style” from 1798 to 1871. When that building burnt down in 1871, a new synagogue with an organ was consecrated in 1875. The synagogue was destroyed during Kristallnacht in 1938.
