Biographical/Historical Information
The historian Eugen Täubler was born in Gostyn/Posen in 1879. He taught at the universities in Zurich and in Heidelberg, and at ‘Hochschule für die Wissenschaft des Judentums’, before emigrating to the U.S. in 1941. He taught at ‘Hebrew Union College’ in Cincinnati until his death in 1953. Eugen Täubler was married to the historian and archivist Selma Stern.
