Biographical/Historical Information

The Monheimer family came from Nuremberg to settle in Alaska in 1846. They then changed their family name to Rudolph.

The parents of Josie Rudolph Thurnauer emigrated from Nuremberg to the United States in 1846, settling in Sitka, Alaska. They changed their name from Monheimer to Rudolph and lived in Alaska. Josie Rudolph married Bernhard Thurnauer and lived in Ludwigshöhe (Guntersblum), Germany. She died in 1948 in New York.
