Biographical/Historical Information
Mrs. Johanna Ksinski (née Sprai) was born in Germany, November 9, 1883 and died on May 9, 1983. She was married to Gustav Ksinski who was involved in establishing and building the Friedens Tempel on Prinzregentenstrasse, whose rabbi was Joachim Prinz. Mrs. Ksinski was a well-known philanthropist who was very active in the Jewish community. She was able to escape from Berlin to London in 1938 together with her husband, daughter, son, and granddaughter and later settled in New York in 1947.
Schindler-Dorn was a well-known portrait and court painter who painted the portrait of the Imperial family.
