    Illustration on the magazine cover depicts two Prussian policemen searching a well-dressed pedestrian, a gun held to his head. The whole street scene is teeming with police. The magazine reports early acts of the Gestapo in 1933, the beginning of Nazi rule in Germany.

    Caption: "Police activities in Germany. Schupos (Schutzpolizisten=secret police), 'brown shirts' and members of an elite unit arrest all pedestrians, motorists or cyclists, verify their papers and search their luggage. These police measures take place everywhere and are implacable and rigorous."
