Biographical Information

Anna Christiane Enders, née Orthenberger (1855-1930) was born in Frankfurt am Main to Helene Orthenberger née Hertz (1832-1886) and Gentile Carl Otto Orthenberger (1825-1883). In 1886 she took over the family dress store and ran it until 1906, when she handed it over to her sister, Fanny Diehl.

August Humbert was German painter born in Frankfurt am Main in 1827. He studied under Jakob Becker at the Städel in Frankfurt. He primarily worked as a portrait painter, but also painted genre works and landscapes.
