    Sitter is portrayed as a well-to-do older man. He wears a stiff collar and a black bow tie, grey hair contrasted by his dark suit and light brown background.

    The portrait is oval shaped, hand-cut from a full standing portrait in order to be brought to the United States from Germany.

Biographical/Historical Information

Paul Nathan Meyer, was the son of Selig Josef Meyer. He was born in Neisse around 1824, but lived in Berlin for the majority of his life.
