Biographical/Historical Information

Siegfried Laboschin was born in Gnesen (Gniezno, Poland) in 1868. He studied at the Berliner Kunstakademie from 1887 to 1889 under Anton von Werner, and then at the Munich Kunstakademie under Fritz Fehr and Hugo von Habermann from 1889 to 1891. He spent his career in Breslau (Wroclaw, Poland), where he painted and made prints, typically of genre scenes, landscapes and still lifes. He was also in charge of the art section at the Breslauer Zeitung.
