Biographical/Historical Information

Ludwig Holländer, born 1857 in Berlin, where he died in 1936. He was a lawyer and functionary in German-Jewish organizations. In 1896 he became the chairman of the "Kartell-Convent der Verbindungen deutscher Studenten juedischen Glaubens" and later the director of the Berlin branch of the Centralverein and editor-in-chief of the "CV-Zeitung" (1932).

Erich Wolfsfeld was born in Krajenka, East Prussia (now Poland) in 1884. He was a painter and graphic artist and taught etching at the Vereinigte Staatsschulen für freie und angewandte Kunst from 1916 to 1936, when he was fired for his Jewish background. He fled to England, where he was interned as an enemy alien on the Isle of Wight. He died in London in 1956.
