Biographical/Historical Information
Max Reinhardt was an Austrian stage director and producer, born in Baden (near Vienna) in 1873. After a highly successful career in Austria and in Germany – he initiated the Salzburg Festival -, Reinhardt immigrated to the US in the 1930s, working as a film director. He died in New York in 1943.
Anton Faistauer (1887-1930) was an Austrian Expressionist painter, working in Salzburg and other places.
