Biographical/Historical Information
Willi Nowak was born in Mnìšek pod Brdy in 1886 to a German-Bohemian father and a mother from a mixed Czech and German family. As a young artist he exhibited in Osma ("The Eight"), a group of avant-garde Czech, German-Bohemian and Jewish artists in Prague that included Friedrich Feigl. Max Brod was a champion of his work.
