Biographical/Historical Information

Henry Behr (originally Heinrich Bähr) lived from 1897 to 1981, and immigrated to the U.S. in circa 1946. Behr and his wife, whose home was in Cologne, were held at Theresienstadt three and a half years. He had been a commercial artist. Behr made a group of drawings in pencil, which he later finished in the present media. There are comments on life in the camp on the backs of the mounts.
