Biographical/Historical Information
The artist Leo Breuer was born in Bonn in 1893. He escaped Nazi Germany in 1934 for The Hague and Brussels. In 1940, he was arrested and interned in Saint Cyprien and then in Gurs, where he was a member of the Catholic Relief Organization. After the war, he settled in Paris and then moved back to Bonn, where he died in 1975.
