Biographical/Historical Information
The Trinity nuclear test was the first detonation of a nuclear weapon, conducted in the Jornada del Muerto desert in New Mexico at the White Sands Missile Range on July 16, 1945. Observers used the welder's glass to prevent light from the explosion from permanently damaging the eyes.
