    A small Torah scroll printed in Hebrew letters on paper. It is kept in a fabric sleeve, imprinted with the text: "Study of Torah is Above All", accompanied by printed images of the Tablets of the Law, lions, and a crown above.

    Also included is a blue velvet bag embroidered with Hebrew text "Tallith" inside a Star of David, which is surrounded by a floral motif; zipper closure. – The bag holds a Tallit with blue stripes and silk patches in each corner (no image available).

Biographical/Historical Information

A Torah scroll contains the entire text of the Five Books of Moses in original Hebrew. It is rolled up around two wooden shafts, attached to either end of the scroll.

Tallit – sometimes also specified as “Tallit gadol (big)” – is a prayer shawl, worn over the outer clothes during Jewish morning prayers and on holidays.
